England midfielder Frank Lampard is expected to be fit for the World Cup quarter-final against Portugal, despite suffering an ankle injury in training on Thursday.
Press reports on Friday morning suggested that the Chelsea schemer could be a major doubt for Sven-Goran Eriksson, but an FA spokesman has played down such fears.
He commented: "I've spoken to Frank, he feels fine and he expects to train on Friday."
Lampard twisted an ankle on Thursday, but appears to have escaped any serious damage and is expected to take his place in a five-man midfield to face Portugal.
Meanwhile, Eriksson is backing Lampard to get on the scoresheet sooner rather than later, having failed to find the net so far in Germany.
"I think he's been unlucky," said Eriksson. "He's had a lot of shots so far and that is good. It will come for him. It is not a big issue for me.
"The important thing in football is you create chances and are on the end of them. Sooner or later, if that happens, you will score goals."
