France stars Thierry Henry and Lilian Thuram have backed Brazil superstar Ronaldo over criticism of his performances earlier on in the World Cup finals.
Henry and Thuram will come face to face with the Real Madrid ace in the quarter-final clash on Saturday evening, with Ronaldo have become the leading scorer in World Cup finals history with a goal in the 3-0 win over Ghana in the second round.
Henry warned: "Ronaldo has always been a very dangerous player.
"If you give him a shooting chance or the chance to accelerate, he always makes you pay.
"He does not move much and gets criticised, but scores 20 goals every season.
"What he is good at is getting between two defenders and beating the offside trap and we have to realise what a danger he is."
Thuram added: "If he's the top scorer of all-time in the World Cup then there must be a reason for that.
"He still has all his ability, he keeps quiet but at any time he is capable of producing a moment of quality like an assist or a goal."
