Rotten end for Sven

Read Bill Borrows every day during the World Cup on 4thegame - you know it makes sense!

England coach Sven-Goran Eriksson was a broken man after seeing his reign end with penalty misery against Portugal in the World Cup quarter-finals.
Misses from Frank Lampard, Steven Gerrard and Jamie Carragher ended England's hopes of glory as Portugal won 3-1 in the shootout, after Eriksson's side had been reduced to ten men by the sending-off of Wayne Rooney.
Eriksson said: "I don't think we deserved to lose. We lost on penalties and I'm really sorry about it. The boys deserved better.
"We are out of the tournament and it hurts, it's very painful.
"We practised penalties so much, I really don't know what more we could do about it.
"I was sure these players could get to the final and we should have done it. I'm sorry for the fans, who have been fantastic, that we couldn't give them a final."
His Portugal counterpart, Luiz Felipe Scolari, was relieved after seeing his side squeeze through to the last four.
He added: "We have a possibility of victory in the next game as well and we get to the final.
"But we are taking things step by step."
