Alajuelense forward Rolando Fonseca has reacted angrily to being left out of Costa Rica's provisional squad for the World Cup finals.
Coach Alexander Guimaraes sprung three major surprises when he omitted Fonseca, Lokomotiv Moscow forward Winston Parks and Veracruz's Oscar Rojas from his 28-man training group.
Fonseca is convinced he should be going to Germany and accused Guimaraes of not selecting the squad on merit.
"I was left out, not because of a lack of ability, but for other reasons,'' he complained.
Rojas was also unhappy about his omission, but his response was less confrontational.
"He (Guimaraes) has his group, and some of us didn't fit in. I'm not resentful,'' Rojas said.
