France coach Raymond Domenech says he is not surprised that Portugal have reached the World Cup semi-finals.

Domenech is preparing his squad to take on England's conquerors, having seen Les Bleus end Brazil's reign in the quarter-finals.

He said: "I am absolutely not surprised by the presence of Portugal in (the) semi-final.

"Since the start of the World Cup, I have said that team has something. They can hold on, make the adversary play bad and they have a lot of individual talents.

"For us the danger is the quality of the adversary, which is able to defeat anyone.

"Then, the other danger is that kind of euphoria that could have appeared because we have defeated Brazil, the reigning world champions.

"But our work is to go beyond that and to prepare us the best we can for the semi-final against Portugal.

"The World Cup will only be a success for the team that will win. For the three other teams it will be more or less a success considering the initial hopes."
