France's joy at reaching the World Cup final was tempered by the fact Louis Saha will miss the showpiece match through suspension.
The Manchester United striker was booked for a foul on Luis Figo just two minutes after arriving as a late substitute during Les Bleus' 1-0 semi-final victory against Portugal on Wednesday.
The 27-year-old had also been cautioned after coming off the bench late on in the quarter-final win against Brazil, so the yellow card in Munich triggered an automatic one-match ban.
Saha was in no mood to talk about his fate, but team-mate Florent Malouda said: "We are all very happy (about the result) but it's true we had a little thought of sadness about him (Saha).
"He is one of our friends and we feel bad for him."
