Francesco Totti has hinted that he may not retire from international football after Italy secured their fourth World Cup success by beating France on penalties in Sunday's final.
The 29-year-old AS Roma star had been expected to quit after the tournament in Germany but has admitted that he is now having second thoughts.
He said: "How can I leave the national team right now?
"Of course, it will be beautiful to leave on a high having been crowned world champions. I will, however, reflect in the next few days. At the moment it's 50-50."
Totti suffered a serious leg injury in February and was a major doubt for the tournament but played a key role in Italy's success and started Sunday's final before being substituted.
He added: "For me, the most beautiful thing is to have made it here considering the injury I had.
"I give myself a seven out of 10 but I give the team 10 out of 10. This team has been fantastic, as a group we have been able to achieve something great."
