Valencia midfielder Pablo Aimar hopes to return to action against Alaves on Sunday after making a swift recovery from a bout of viral meningitis.
The 26-year-old only left hospital on April 19 after a week of treatment, but is keen to resume playing as soon as possible to ensure he is fully fit for Argentina's World Cup campaign.
"If they want me to play, I'm fit enough to play on Sunday," said Aimar.
"I didn't see the World Cup in danger because they told me it was not serious. Apart from a wonderful headache, I felt well.
"I had some fever and my head ached a lot, but they told me what I had and they explained to me the treatment I was going to receive.
"I got a bit alarmed when I knew what I had, but when the doctor told me that I was going to stay at the hospital just to receive an antibiotic treatment, I stopped worrying."
