South Korea coach Dick Advocaat has emerged as the front-runner to become the new manager of PSV Eindhoven.
Guus Hiddink has confirmed he will leave the Philips Stadion at the end of the campaign to take charge of Russia's national team and PSV had initially targeted Barcelona assistant-boss Henk ten Cate to succeed him.
However, ten Cate has indicated he would only be prepared to leave Barca if he is offered the top job at Ajax, forcing PSV chairman Rob Westerhof to look elsewhere.
"It should be a Dutch guy that assumes the Eindhoven coaching position," said Westerhof.
"Nothing is confirmed yet, but we are looking for those with the experience of coaching a national team or a Dutch side.
"I think Advocaat or Roda JC's Huub Stevens is closest to who we are looking for."
Advocaat's contract with the South Korean Football Association expires after the World Cup finals and talks about a new deal are yet to get underway.
