Netherlands international Mark van Bommel has turned down the chance to join Bayern Munich in the summer.
The Bundesliga leaders had targeted the Barcelona midfielder to replace the departing Michael Ballack, but found he was unwilling to move to Germany just yet.
Van Bommel has struggled to establish himself as a first-team regular at Barca since his free transfer move from PSV Eindhoven last summer, but remains keen to make a success of his spell with the Spanish champions.
"Three or four weeks ago the German side asked the club about me, but both Barcelona and I said no, because I don't want to leave," the 29-year-old told Marca.
The Dutchman will be hoping to start for Barca at Celta Vigo on Wednesday, when a draw will be enough to ensure they retain the Primera Liga title.
