Angola have been dealt a serious blow in their build-up to next month's first World Cup finals appearance after key striker Maurito sustained ligament damage.
The 24-year-old picked up the problem in last week's Asian Champions League clash between Al Wahda and Saba Battery.
The Al Wahda forward was injured in the last minute of his side's 4-2 defeat and could be out of action until November.
"The injury is the same as the one suffered by Xavi at Barcelona," said an Al Wahda spokesman.
"We think he will be out for six months but we are waiting for the final conclusion."
Maurito is scheduled to have a scan on Friday.
