Latapy on course for finals

Falkirk manager John Hughes is confident Russell Latapy will recover from a knee injury in time to represent Trinidad & Tobago at the World Cup.

The 37-year-old midfielder has not played since the 0-0 draw with Dunfermline on April 15 and has already been ruled out for the rest of the SPL season.

However, Hughes sees no reason why Latapy will not be fit to play in the Soca Warriors' opener against Sweden on June 10.

He said: "Russell will be okay for the World Cup. He's back in Portugal working with a physio. In fact he has recommended a player to me."
