It is just reward that the late, great Bobby Moore is remembered for the superb world class defender that he certainly was.

When arguably the best the world has ever seen, Pele, rates you as one of the best, then that just about says it all.

England's 1966 World Cup winning skipper may have had critics that said he lacked pace and couldn't head the ball but his ability to read the game and time a tackle meant that any flaws in his game were very rarely uncovered.

Moore made his debut for England in 1962 and appeared in the World Cup finals that summer, before leading England to the World Cup on home soil in 1966. Four years later in Mexico he again captained England, as this time they were knocked out in dramatic circumstances by West Germany.

After gaining 108 internationals caps and enjoying a glittering club career, Moore's untimely death in 1993 robbed English sport of one of its most revered footballers of all time.
