Ukraine captain Andriy Shevchenko has revealed he hopes to leave AC Milan at the end of the season.
Rumours suggesting the 29-year-old is unhappy in Italy have been circulating for some time, but Shevchenko had consistently stated he wished to see out his career with the Rossoneri.
However, the situation has changed and the ex-Dynamo Kyiv striker admitted: "I want to leave. I cannot hide my wish any longer from the fans.
"I have spoken to the president (Milan owner Silvio Berlusconi) and we talked about a lot of things, including the possibility of leaving. No decision has been taken yet.
"This has nothing to do with money. It is a family issue. Once I have made a decision I will call another press conference."
Shevchenko, who has scored 127 Serie A goals in his seven years at the San Siro, is contracted to Milan until 2009 and is valued at over £20million.
