Liverpool goalkeeper Jerzy Dudek has voiced his anger at being omitted from Poland's squad for the World Cup finals this summer.
The 33-year-old made only a handful of appearances for the Reds last season and paid the price for that lack of action by being left out of the 23-man party named by coach Pawel Janas.
Dudek fumed: "I talked with Janas a few days before he announced the names of the players and he assured me that I would play in Germany.
"I was sure that I would play at World Cup 2006 because I have never played poorly for my national team.
"Then I heard that I was not on the list. At the beginning I thought that it was a joke. I don't understand why he did that to me."
Janas opted to take Celtic's Artur Boruc, West Brom's Tomasz Kuszczak and Lukasz Fabianski of Legia Warsaw to Germany this summer.
