Nuno Gomes and Luis Boa Morte will sit out Portugal's friendly against Cape Verde on Saturday because of concerns about their fitness.
The Benfica striker and the Fulham forward both picked up minor knocks during the Portuguese training camp in Evora and will not be risked in the friendly.
However, both should be fit for the final pre-tournament warm-up against Luxembourg in Metz on June 3.
Portugal will get their World Cup campaign underway against Angola in Cologne on June 11.
