Croatia started their World Cup warm-up programme with a comfortable 4-1 win against Austria in Vienna on Tuesday.

The hosts fielded an experimental line-up that included three debutants and Croatia took full advantage as Ivan Klasnic fired them into an 11th-minute lead.

Austria levelled two minutes later through Andreas Ivanschitz, but it was one-way traffic after that.

Klasnic netted a second 10 minutes before the interval, before second-half strikes from Marko Babic and Bosko Balaban put the result beyond doubt.

Zlatko Kranjcar's side now face friendlies against Iran, Poland and Spain before beginning their World Cup finals campaign with a clash against holders Brazil in Berlin on June 13.
