Serhiy Rebrov is expected to be fit to represent Ukraine at the World Cup finals despite suffering a thigh injury in training on Thursday.

The 31-year-old Dynamo Kyiv forward will have to sit out training for the next few days, but team officials see no reason why he should not be fit to play in Ukraine's World Cup opener against Spain on June 14.

"The doctors discovered a light injury on the back of my thigh," Rebrov told Sport-Express.

"They say I'll need a week to recover, but I hope that in three days I'll resume training to an individual programme and I'll be ready for the friendly game with Italy on June 2."
