Blokhin discounts victory
Monday 29 May 2006
Read Bill Borrows every day during the World Cup on 4thegame - you know it makes sense!
Ukraine coach Oleg Blokhin was surprisingly downbeat after seeing his side win 4-0 against fellow World Cup finalists Costa Rica.
Goals from Serhiy Nazarenko, Andriy Vorobey, Maxym Kalinichenko and Olexiy Bielik should have left Blokhin more than happy, but he was decidedly under-whelmed by the victory.
He said: "In a warm-up the result doesn't count.
"What really counts is discipline on defence, team work and the ability to play an all-round game.
"We need to work on all those aspects of the game."
