Portsmouth boss Harry Redknapp would love to be able to celebrate an escape from relegation by clinching a permanent deal for loan star Andres D'Alessandro.
The 24-year-old Argentina international is currently on loan from Wolfsburg, but is wanted by a number of clubs in the summer, with Pompey's hopes of a deal resting on their survival in the top-flight.
Redknapp said: "I would like to keep D'Alessandro. If we stay up I would love to build a team around him.
"I know he would be a big player here if we could get him long term.
"Andres would be a brilliant player to have around next year. He has already been superb for us.
"He is a bit of a throwback to former Pompey manager Graham Rix as a player with a magical left foot."
D'Alessandro has made six appearances for Pompey, helping them to a run of three straight victories that has taken them to within a point of safety.
Borussia Monchengladbach and Stuttgart have already registered an interest in the former River Plate starlet.
