A bout of food poisoning looks set to prevent Poland midfielder Ebi Smolarek from featuring in Tuesday's World Cup warm-up game against Colombia.
The Borussia Dortmund star was a surprise choice up front alongside Maciej Zurawski as Poland beat Swiss club side St. Gallen 10-0 in a friendly on Sunday.
He netted three times in the match, but coach Pawel Janas is unlikely to get the chance to continue the experiment against the South Americans.
Team spokesman Michal Olszanski said: "Smolarek was in bad shape after the flight and coach Janas decided to let him rest from training this evening.
"It looks like he ate something bad on Sunday and has a light stomach problem. We are hoping he may be better in the morning, but he may not start against Colombia."
