Spain coach Luis Aragones is anxiously awaiting news of the severity of a leg injury suffered by Xabi Alonso during training on Tuesday.
The Liverpool midfielder pulled up with what is thought to be a muscle strain and was unable to complete the workout.
Another fitness scare involving a key player was the last thing Aragones needed as full-backs Michel Salgado and Asier del Horno are both currently sidelined by injury.
Real Madrid's Salgado is expected to recover from his hamstring problem in time to play in Germany, but Del Horno's ankle complaint is more serious and Deportivo La Coruna's Joan Capdevila is on standby to replace the Chelsea star.
