Paraguay striker Nelson Valdez has completed his move to Borussia Dortmund by putting pen to paper on a four-year contract at the Westfalenstadion.
The 22-year-old has spent the past five years with Dortmund's Bundesliga rivals Werder Bremen, scoring 21 times in 80 league appearances.
However, he rarely featured for Werder last term and is delighted to have secured a move to a club where he will get more opportunities at first-team level.
"It is wonderful that everything has worked out and I'll be able to play within the fantastic atmosphere of the Signal-Iduna Park wearing the Dortmund shirt," Valdez told the club's official website.
Before making his debut for his new club Valdez is likely to have a key role to play for his country at the World Cup finals.
Paraguay's leading striker Roque Santa Cruz is struggling to recover from a knee injury and may not be fit to play in their opening game against England on June 10, which would leave Valdez to lead the line.
