Argentina won their last World Cup warm-up game 2-0 against fellow finalists Angola in Italy.

Goals in the first half in Salerno from Maxi Rodriguez and Juan Pablo Sorin ensured victory for Jose Pekerman's side, in a game that saw defender Roberto Ayala make his 100th appearance for Argentina.

The rugged centre-back said after the game: "A victory is always good for the morale. We are confident to do well in the World Cup."

Coach Pekerman stuck by the line-up that he has already said will start the first game in Germany, with Javier Saviola and Hernan Crespo the chosen front pairing.

"The line-up of the team for the debut in the World Cup will be the same as the one that played the last friendly match in Buenos Aires before we travelled to Italy," Pekerman said.

"We have been working very well and we still have a few more days."
