Silvio Spann has been forced to withdraw from Trinidad & Tobago's World Cup squad because of a hamstring problem.
The 23-year-old suffered the injury during the first week of the Soca Warriors' training camp for Germany 2006 and has not recovered as quickly as hoped.
Team doctors ruled Spann would not have been able to play in the Group B matches against Sweden and England and that he was also a doubt for the final game against Paraguay.
The news has prompted head coach Leo Beenhakker to call Waldhof Mannheim winger Evans Wise into his squad as a replacement for Spann.
