Paraguay captain Carlos Gamarra has warned England to expect a real test when the sides get their World Cup campaigns underway in Frankfurt on June 10.

The Paraguayans are regarded as one of the weaker South American sides to have qualified for Germany 2006, but Gamarra believes they have proved otherwise during the build-up to the tournament.

Anibal Ruiz's men have drawn with Norway and Denmark since arriving in Europe and went one better against Georgia on Wednesday, when Nelson Valdez's 37th-minute strike gave them a 1-0 victory.

"We understand each other more now," said Gamarra.

"In the qualifiers, we played together too, but we used to have only two or three training days before each match.

"Now that we've been together for two weeks, work has helped us a lot, not only in our way of playing but also as a group off the pitch.

"I think that if we keep on improving day by day, we'll get to the England match in very good form.

"We've faced Denmark, who scored four goals against England, and if we had pressured Denmark a bit more, we could have beaten them."
