A weakened Holland team beat Mexico 2-1 in a World Cup warm-up game on Thursday to please boss Marco van Basten who is delighted with the depth of his squad.
Bolton Wanderers striker Jared Borgetti gave the Mexicans the lead but goals by John Heitinga and Ryan Babel sealed victory for what was effectively Holland's reserve side.
A full-strength Holland team had beaten Cameroon 1-0 last weekend and van Basten said: "We used the last two matches to evaluate the players on this level.
"I am pleased that this team beat a good World Cup competitor like Mexico.
"For us it is obvious that we have a strong squad. In a World Cup tournament the strength of your reserves will be very important."
