Benfica goalkeeper Quim has not given up hope of establishing himself as Portugal's first-choice shot-stopper for the World Cup finals.
The 30-year-old has dropped behind Sporting Lisbon's Ricardo in coach Luiz Felipe Scolari's plans after a disappointing season for his club.
However, he believes Scolari could still be persuaded to change his mind.
"It has been a season to forget but I know the quality that I have," said Quim.
"I know Ricardo looks set to play but it's down to me to make the coach's job as difficult as possible when he names his team."
