Angola lose five-goal thriller

Saturday 3 June 2006

Angola's preparations for the World Cup suffered a setback when they crashed to a 3-2 defeat to Turkey on Friday.

Angola led at the interval thanks to Fabrice Akwa's goal but the Turks hit back in the second half to lead through strikes by Necati Ates and Nihat Kahveci.

Arsenio Love made it 2-2 with seven minutes to go but almost immediately Altintop Halil grabbed a winner for the World Cup 2002 semi-finalists.

Angola face Portugal in their opening Group D encounter next Sunday.
