Lemerre upbeat on Santos

Coach Roger Lemerre expects striker Francileudo Santos to shake off a knee injury in time to start Tunisia's World Cup opener against Saudi Arabia in Munich on June 14.

The Brazilian-born star limped out of the Carthage Eagles' final pre-tournament warm-up game against a German invitation team on Wednesday, but Lemerre is not worried about his fitness.

"It's only a small injury which he's had for about a fortnight," said the coach, after seeing his side record a 4-0 win.

Tunisia can ill afford to lose Santos, who has netted 18 times in 28 internationals, as fellow striker Issam Jomaa has already flown home because of a knee injury.
