Togo's preparations for the World Cup have been thrown into disarray by the resignation of coach Otto Pfister.
The German has been caught in the middle of a row between the Togo Football Association and his players about bonus payments and finally lost patience with the situation and stormed out of the team's training camp on Friday.
The final straw is believed to have been the players' decision to boycott three training sessions in protest about the bonus situation.
"I'm giving up my work as national trainer," Pfister told German newspaper Tagesspiegel.
"I will not be at the World Cup. I'm not going to let myself be messed around any longer."
Pfister's assistant Piet Hamberg has also resigned, leaving the Togo squad without coaching staff ahead of their World Cup opener against South Korea on June 13.
