Werder Bremen striker Nelson Valdez is close to agreeing a move to Borussia Dortmund for next season.
The 22-year-old Paraguay international has become frustrated at playing second fiddle to Miroslav Klose and Ivan Klasnic and is hopeful of more regular first-team football at the Westfalenstadion.
He told Kreiszeitung Syke: "I am not going to extend my contract with Bremen and I want to move to Dortmund this summer."
However, Bremen are seeking a possible player swap that could thwart Valdez's ambitions, with director of football Klaus Allofs adding: "The club have also got to be happy and the deal must be economically viable.
"We have got to at least compensate, if not improve, on the sporting side."
