Coach Bruce Arena has moved to quash rumours of a rift in the USA camp following their 3-0 defeat against Czech Republic.

Arena and DaMarcus Beasley exchanged angry words via the press in the wake of the Group E clash, leading to speculation the midfielder would be left out of the team for Saturday's must-win match against Italy in Kaiserslautern.

"Probably the remarks from me and DaMarcus should not have even been stated," Arena told a press conference.

"DaMarcus hasn't been a problem with anything. I hate to tell you that because it doesn't sound as exciting as you (journalists) want it to be."

Arena had earlier criticised Beasley's anonymous display against Czech Republic, while the player responded by blaming the defeat on the coach's tactics.
