Switzerland will wait until next week before deciding whether injured defender Valon Behrami will play any part in their World Cup finals campaign.

The 21-year-old Lazio ace will definitely miss the clash with Togo on Monday, but an MRI scan on a troublesome groin injury showed no significant damage.

Swiss team spokesman Pierre Benoit confirmed: "The scan confirmed that there has been at least no worsening of the injury.

"Behrami will undergo further tests and will not train with the team for the next two or three days, but there will no be final decision until next week."

Team doctor Roland Grossen added that there had been discussions about sending Behrami home, but that a decision on that course of action has been put on hold.

"We talked about it, but the extent of the injury was not clear and rightly or wrongly we decided he should stay," Grossen said.
