Ecuador may be forced to go in to Tuesday's World Cup Group A clash against Germany without striker Carlos Tenorio.
The 27-year-old scored against both Poland and Costa Rica as Ecuador booked their place in the last 16, but an ankle injury is set to prevent him playing in Berlin.
Coach Luis Fernando Suarez is likely to make widespread changes to his starting line-up for a match that will decide who finishes top of the group.
Suarez is keen to ensure he has his strongest line-up available for the first knockout round and is considering resting any players who picked up a yellow card during the first two matches.
Ivan Hurtado and Edison Mendez were booked during the 2-0 victory over Poland, while Ulises De la Cruz, Cristian Mora and Segundo Castillo were all cautioned in the 3-0 win against Costa Rica.
