Italy striker Vincenzo Iaquinta is a doubt for Thursday's crunch Group E clash with the Czech Republic after being taken to hospital with a suspected fractured finger.
The Udinese striker sustained the injury during a training session and was immediately sent for a medical check-up.
Filippo Inzaghi is expected to replace Iaquinta if he is ruled out of the game.
Striker Alberto Gilardino also suffered a minor ankle injury during training on Monday and is a doubt for the Czech Republic match.
However, midfielder Simone Perrotta should recover from the back injury he suffered in the 1-1 draw with the USA in time to play in the game.
Azzurri team doctor Enrico Castellacci said: "Perrotta could recover for Thursday's game. But we will only be able to confirm his availability on Wednesday."
