Iran defender Yahya Golmohammadi has been ruled out of his country's final Group D game against Angola on Wednesday with a shoulder injury.
Iran are already out of the tournament after losing their first two group matches but it was Golmohammadi who scored his country's only goal - in the 3-1 loss to Mexico.
"He will not play because of a problem with the shoulder," said team doctor Sasa Jankovic. "He injured the ligaments in the last match."
Golmohammadi sustained the injury when body-checking Portugal's Cristiano Ronaldo in Iran's 2-0 defeat - a foul that led to him being booked.
In better news for Iran, veteran striker Ali Daei should be able to play against Angola, with Jankovic adding. "He could play but I cannot say whether he will. We will see tomorrow."
