Ecuador defender Ulises De la Cruz has hinted that he could leave Aston Villa when he returns to England at the end of the World Cup finals.
The 32-year-old has spent the last four years at Villa Park but has struggled to win a regular starting spot in David O'Leary's first-team plans.
"Maybe I will be leaving," he said. "I have had no offers thus far but maybe after the World Cup I will.
"But I would definitely love to stay in England because I like the language, culture and style of play."
When asked whether he would prefer to play Sweden or England in the second round of the tournament, De la Cruz added: "I prefer Sweden and not England but it is not a decision for Ecuador.
"We would be more confident when playing Sweden because England are so strong on free-kicks, corners and in the air. The English team is very good and they have a great midfield."
Ecuador need only a draw in their final Group A encounter against Germany on Monday to finish top and would then play the second-placed team in Group B in the second round.
