After the match Argentina forward Carlos Tevez admitted the goalless draw with Holland had been a disappointing affair.

Chances were few and far between in a match between two sides that had already qualified for the last 16.

Tevez said: "It was difficult. We didn't play the kind of football that we like to play, but we were facing a very strong team.

"We kept the ball well. All that was missing was goals.

Coach Jose Pekerman added: "We still have to make improvements from the past matches. Both teams played very well."

Holland goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar said: "I'm not really satisfied. We wanted to win the group but I think Argentina made it quite difficult for us.

"In the second half we came into the game a bit more and had some half-chances. I'm happy I kept a clean sheet and played my 112th match for Holland and equalled the record.

"We tried everything but we couldn't take any risks with players on yellow cards. In this tournament with referees you never know what you're going to get."
