Werder Bremen have made it clear Germany striker Miroslav Klose is not for sale after press reports suggested he was a target for several leading English clubs.
The 28-year-old has already netted four goals at the World Cup finals and his agent, Alexander Schutt, claims to have been contacted by a number of clubs keen to sign him.
Werder officials are furious about Schutt's remarks and wasted no time in setting the record straight.
Bremen sport director Klaus Allofs told Kicker: "Miro's performances at the World Cup have put him in the spotlight. But, as far as we are concerned, he is absolutely not for sale."
As well as performing well for the national team Klose has been in fine form for his club in recent times, scoring 25 Bundesliga goals during the 2005-06 campaign.
