Three-time South American Player of the Year, Carlos Tevez will head to Germany under pressure to prove he can perform at the highest level. The 22-year-old burst on to the international stage in 2004 with a series of impressive displays at the Copa America and then finished as top scorer at the Athens Olympics as Argentina won gold. The stocky striker has since struggled to produce his best form for Argentina and could find himself spending much of the World Cup on the bench. However, Tevez has experienced little but success in club football, winning the Apertura, the Copa Libertadores, the Intercontinental Cup and the Copa Sudamericana with Boca Juniors, before helping Corinthians to win the Campeonato Brasileiro following his Brazilian record $19million transfer in December 2004.
