Best known for his outrageous hairstyle, Fabricio Coloccini is a quick, footballing defender who is equally at home at centre-back or right-back. The 24-year-old was a member of the Argentina squads that won the 2001 FIFA World Youth Championship and 2004 Olympics. He made his senior international debut in the 3-1 friendly victory in Libya in April 2003 and has since become a regular member of the squad, helping his country to reach the finals of the 2004 Copa America and 2005 Confederations Cup. Coloccini has also impressed in club football since finding a permanent home by joining Deportivo La Coruna in January 2005, having been loaned out to Alaves, Atletico Madrid and Villarreal during a disappointing spell with AC Milan.
