One of the best finishers in world football, Hernan Crespo will head to Germany under pressure to prove he is a worthy successor to the great Gabriel Batistuta. The Chelsea striker has already been to two World Cups but, despite an impressive scoring record for Argentina, did not start a game in either tournament and is still to demonstrate that he can perform at the very highest level. He has, however, experienced success in club football, having won two national titles and the Copa Libertadores with River Plate, and the UEFA Cup and two Coppa Italias with Parma. Crespo has also had spells with Lazio, Internazionale and AC Milan during a career that has seen him transferred for fees in excess of 100 million euros.
