An exciting left-sided midfielder, Argentina captain Juan Pablo Sorin is currently enjoying the best form of his career for both club and country. Sorin led Argentina to victory in the 1995 FIFA World Youth Championship and made his senior international debut in the same year, but was mystifyingly overlooked for France '98. He recovered from the setback to play in the 2002 World Cup and after his impressive displays at the 2004 Copa America and 2005 Confederations Cup, Sorin is now the first name on Jose Pekerman's team-sheet. At club level, he had spells with Argentinos Juniors, Juventus, River Plate, Lazio, Barcelona, Paris St-Germain and Cruzeiro before joining Villarreal in 2004 and helped the Primera Liga side to emerge as one of Europe's leading teams.
