A major surprise in the Socceroos squad, Kennedy will add an option of height and power in the air to Guus Hiddink's options. The 23-year-old played his football on the second rung of German football this season with Dynamo Dresden, but did enough to earn a move to Nurnberg for next term in netting 12 goals. There he will link up with compatriots Michael Beauchamp and Dean Hefferman, with the former also included in the squad for Germany.
