A tough-tackling right-back, Neill has been around the Socceroos for a decade, but has yet to make himself a fixture in the starting eleven. However, he is likely to be first-choice on the right flank for coach Guus Hiddink this summer, having improved since his move to Blackburn Rovers in the summer of 2001. Renowned for his never-say-die attitude, Neill is also a fine overlapping full-back, forming an effective partnership for both club and country with Brett Emerton. Started his professional career with Millwall and made his international debut against Saudi Arabia in 1996.
