Able to play either in central defence or at right-back, Beauchamp won the nod ahead of Michael Thwaite, while an injury to Tony Vidmar also opened the door for the former Central Coast Mariners star. Made his international debut in February in a 3-1 win over Bahrain in an Asian Cup qualifier. Beauchamp is set to join German side Nurnberg straight after the summer showpiece, where he will link up with compatriot Josh Kennedy, who also won the nod in Guus Hiddink's 23-man squad.
