The speedy left-sided Lazaridis can play anywhere down the left flank, giving coach Guus Hiddink a number of welcome options. Started out with West Adelaide, but has been plying his trade in England for more than a decade, having initially moved there to join West Ham in the summer of 1995. Lazaridis enjoyed four seasons with the Hammers, before moving on to sign for Birmingham City in the summer of 1999. Has racked up more than 200 appearances for the Blues, but has suffered a number of injury problems in recent times, but remains a regular for the Socceroos when fit.
