The Internazionale keeper came to prominence at the Copa America in 2004, helping Brazil to victory, before deciding to leave Flamengo and try his luck in Europe. He initially joined Chievo to adjust to the new way of life, before moving to the San Siro last summer and quickly establishing himself as first-choice for coach Roberto Mancini, displacing Italy international Francesco Toldo. At just 26, Cesar will be hoping to become a regular for the Selecao in the near future, with most of his challengers several years older than himself.
