Gonzalez is one of coach Alexandre Guimaraes' first-choice picks in defence, where he can occupy either full-back berth. At 25 he already has more than 30 caps to his name and is another who plays his club football for Herediano. Just missed out on selection for the tournament four years ago and will be hoping to make up for lost time in Germany this summer.
